July 2012 I spent over $ 2000 for a crankshaft ventilation system repair after which the car started leaking oil. Had to put oil every 400-600 miles so took it back to Delmar Auto & Radiator. Doug Shanley the owner, who has no idea of what customer service is, (never calls to let you know status of car) blamed the car leak on a terrible job done by "somebody" on the crankshaft ventilation system. On top of that said the radiator and steering oil were leaking and needed repair (~$ 1500). When I told him that he had "fixed" the crankshaft ventilation system 3 months ago, his reaction was "really" ? I gave him the Invoice number and when he reviewed it, his story completely changed to the tune that the oil leak was an unrelated consequence of the crankshaft ventilation system repair. Then started reading a bulletin for the car that talked about the crankshaft ventilation system, the issues with it and bla, bla, bla. In short, would not take responsibility for his own work and returned the car stating “with full fresh oil in the engine”. To my surprise, when I got home I checked the oil dip and indicated it was empty !!. Implication is that he never did anything to the car and took no responsibility for the work he had performed. A totally unprofessional and un-ethical individual and do not know how he has survived in the business. Even though he claims he does, for sure he does not have any knowledge of European cars. Please do not take your car to Delmar Auto & Radiator, always a story of why it is not his fault for the work performed. Be aware of his modus operandi and unprofessional tactics.
