Question: Dead Short?

 Rookie

When I turn off the ignition, remove the keys & remove the positive battery cable from the battery, I still get an electric arc from the positive post to the cable connector, at which point the headlights & interior lights come on momentarily & then go out. With the fuses & relays exposed, I can feel & hear a switch cutting in & out when the battery cable is touched to the positive post. Problem is I have worn out an 85 AMP battery in 3 months, & have had the truck to the Ford garage once, to no avail.
