dashboard lights on 1999 Toyota 4Runner

My dashboard lights are out and I'd like to know how to remove the dashboard so that I can repair them any information will be helpful.

Do the ashtray light and heater cantrol panel lights work. Could the dash light rheostat be turned down to max dim. Autoline have our workshop manual on line for free. http://www.autozone.com/N,316054/initialAction,repairGuide/shopping/vehicleSelect4.htm

my dashboard is giving me a green-colored light on the right side which looks like this /---|---/ | /---|---/ | do i need like an wheela alignment of sorts?

Only at night can the digital dashboard lighting be read. During daylight you have to look direcly into it. Can this be changed out witout a great deal of expense and hoorah? I love my 4runner ot...
