 Rookie

I had just driven my Honda to the store and when I got back in and tried to start it back up, all the dash board lights started blinking and clicking and the car was totally dead. I got out and saw that the flood light was on so I got in and turned it off. Then all the dash lights blinked again and the car tried to start but it was dead again. I finally got the battery charged and the car started but the Maintenance light is on. I have driven it since then with no obvious problems other than the Maintenence light being on. Any ideas??
