 Rookie

here recently my car has been shutting down when driving. my traction control light comes on and it shuts down with no power. jump it and seems like nothing wrongs. traction control light comes on and it completely shuts down. whats the problem

  what is the condition of your battery? Many newer cars can experience erratic problems if the battery voltage gets too low or if the charging system is weak.

  If your warning lights are coming on, you should scan for any stored trouble codes. That will give you a place to start.

  If it's not the battery, it's definitely the alternator. I am 95% sure that it is, I own a 2000 Lincoln LS and I had that same problem bout 2 to 3mths. ago. Replaced the battery it wasn't that, took it to Meineke Car Care Center and they told me my alternator had gone bad. Good luck on that!

  I had the same problem about 4 mths. ago, and it was my alternator. I have a 2002 Lincoln LS V8.

  I have a lincoln 2005 LS and it is the shop for the same thing, they are repairing at no cost so apparently this is happening on a lot of cars.

  Their is currently a recall on the coils. The dealership will fix it for free, however, if you have an eight cylinder you will have to wait and return the car every time one goes bad. I'm currently having my third one replaced.

  I replaced four of eight coils. I left the cover off and have not replaced the other for with now 85000 k...
