My wife brought this car used from a former VW dealer, the cruse control never worked. The dealer replaced the switch but with no help. When the car is turned on the green "CRUSE" light dose not come on with the other warning lights. I would like to know if there could be a loose electrical connector that could cause this. I already looked under the dash and at the switch tat was repaced.

    There are about 40 computers on this car, so the best way to deal with 'no cruise' is to scan the data stream of the power train module and dash module. I am not trying to make this over complicated but even before the green cruise light comes on there are 'enabling' criteria. For example, if your brake light switch does not work, you will never be able to get the cruise to come on. And there are several other enabling criteria. Like if you have a check engine light, ABS light etc.
