Question: cruise control does not work. no lights come on at all. any ideas?

When the car is started, you can turn the cruise control on, but it goes off when the brake is pressed to put the car in gear. It will not come back on until the car is shut off and restarted.

    The wiring and components in the cruise control system would have to be investigated following test procedures from a workshop manual.Autozone have some popular workshop manuals for free on line once you register (for free) on their website http://bit.ly/autozone_repair_info. There is a company that independent auto repair shops get their information from, this same information is available inexpensively for people that work on their own cars.. The information is year make and model specific, covering repair procedures, torque specifications, fluid capacities and specifications, service bulletins, component locations, wiring diagrams ect....     The cruise control should cancel when the brake pedal is pressed and would not normally engage until the vehicle reaches approx 25 mph.
