Creak at low speeds on 2002 Ford Explorer

When the speed is less than 10 mph and I have a passenger, there is a creak in the rear of the vehicle. As the speed picks up, the creak disappears. Without a passenger, the creak is barely noticeable.

I had an annoying creaking in my 02 Explorer. Get under and spray the suspension components with WD-40. Took care of my problem.

Suspension creaks can be very hard to pinpoint. If you can hear the noise when pushing down on the rear bumper have a someone try and listen to where the noise is coming from. It could be a worn shock or bushing causing the noise.

I found the spare tire was loose which caused this noise.
