2004 Hyundai Elantra Question: crankshaft seal keeps breaking

 Rookie

front crankshaft seal blew out of nowhere. they put a new one in and that one blew immediately. what could be causing this?

    Customer Concern: Front crank seal repeat failures, pushing out.
    Tests/Procedures: 1. Check crank case pressure (blow by) at wide open throttle.

    2. Check and clean the drain hole in the oil pump housing at about the 6 o'clock position just behind the seal.
    Potential Causes: Excessive Blow-By
    Restricted Seal Drain
