Question: cranks but no start then suddenly will start like some sensor is telling it not

when it does start smells like it is flooded once when driving cut off an on and never did that again just started about 3 or 4 days ago when it got cold here in phoenix thanks Larry

    Are there any codes that are set?
    Is this the lt1 engine... not a zL1?
    If an Lt1, check if you have spark when this happens. Distributors and caps are very common problems.
    Have also seen bad coil wires causing a crank, no start

    is it the whole distributor or just cap and rotor about 4 years ago optispark went and car was running on 5 or 6 cylinders now is not missing is a intermittent problem thanks Larry

    Sorry, the other engine is a zr1,,, not zl1.
    I'm going to guess it is a lt1.
    Code 16 is almost always a distributor(optispark)problem,
