Ok i got timing chain replaced at Hall Mazda in virginia beach. Once i got it back about a week goes by and then im crozin along and i hear a knocking. took it back to them and they said it was unrelated to there work. But they said the knocking was coming from oil pan. Could this be a bad Crank bearing? They said the thrust bearing was still good. But how much would it cost to get the crank bearings replaced?

    I know this is way late to answer this but for anyone else who may come across this issue it will help them. I have a 2008 mazda 6 and had a knock/tick/rattle you could only really hear when cruising at a constand speed down the highway. Took it to the mazda dealer here and they diagnosed that it was my connecting rod bearing in cylinder 3 that was worn. I bought this car in the beginning of march of 2013 have only put 3000 km's on it. Oil was said to be changed by the dealer before I bought it but the mazda dealer clarified that there was no way my oil could possibly be like that @ 3000 km's all in all repair price is $4500 for a used motor, 4900 for it to be rebuilt, and 7000 for a new 2.3L from mazda. All in all not cheap. And not expected when you first buy it and for $10,000 CAN.
