3.0L should be belt , and 2.7 (not yours) is listed as chain. Both are listed as interference engines. Certain things can be checked prior to repairs to see if any OBVIOUS valve damage has been done.
my car is a 2.7 motor i guess it,s got a chain
how would i check to see if there are bent valves or bad piston
thank you

I am not sure but it is an interference engine then you could bend some valves
I have NO clue...how much DOES it cost to change a TIMMING chain?

Post says 3.0 , now that we got that cleared up , next question relevant to answering your question......Did the chain or guides/tensioner(s) break ? what is the REASON for wanting to replace it? .......a little more info ..a little more answer ...........I see a pattern here. .......coarse I see lots of things my doctor says they're not real........anyhow- broke or not-broke that is the question.
