The price varies so much from repair shop to repair shop. Autozone parts stores and Amco will check the codes for free in hopes of selling parts or labor. Good quality scan tools cost several thousand dollars one of the ones we have costs $900 a year to upgrade so most repair shops in my area of California charge between $90 to $175 for initial diagnostics and testing.
