Question: Cost of replacing ignition switch

Question

Visitor, 2.2L 4 Cylinder, Devine, TX, November 28, 2010, 18:59

I had been having problems with my key not turning, so I heard from someone that it may have been the ignition switch. So, my brother and I (without really knowing what we were doing) took out the old ignition switch, and tried to put in the new one. Dumb as it is, we didn't mark where the wires went and now my truck is immobile because the ignition switch has to be connected. If I already have the part, about how much would this cost to put the new switch on?

there is connectors that only go on one way. you need to verify that you have the right switch. it pays only .8 hours to replace.
then you need to fix your issue. it is the lock cylinder not the switch. since you tried the switch, i would take it to a shop for this job. it is safer for you.
