Can an honest mechanic please give me an estimate as to how much it would cost to replace the idle arm,4 rotors and front brake pads on a 98 Eddie Bauer Expedition? Thanks!

You did not mention if you have a 4x2 or I'm give you a basic idea. Idler arm - $180 parts, $75 labor. Then alignment - $80. Brakes - front pads and labor - $230. Rotors $200 front. Rear rotors only - $250 parts and labor Total - $1015. Give or take with the price of parts in your area, and the price of labor in yoru area.

bigdan71, An honest and professional mechanic should ask you to bring in your Expedition and check your brakes totally to make sure no "hidden " costs occur to give you an almost exact price. I say almost because although we are 99% of the time on the money with our estimate nobody is perfect. Also do not forget to compare apples to apples.
