2001 Chevrolet Monte Carlo Question: cost of parts and labor
Answer #1dandd September 28, 2010, 14:26Master
A new engine ( factory rebuilt ) is from $4000-$5000 depending on how many other parts you replace such as the radiator, hoses, belts, wires, plugs etc.
The labor is around 10 hours, 7 hours to R&R the engine and then some additional time to change over the brackets, the manifolds etc and to add new parts.
A 3.8 engine goes for $2950, from the dealer that it depends ho s many parts that you replace, the factory engine will most likely require a new radiator to keep the warranty so that is about $300+
