What should it cost to replace the parking brake in the Mercury Mountaineer (2002)? Thanks

    The parking brake uses cables going to the rear of the vehicle. The rear brake discs have a set of brake shoes withing the brake disc that applies and holds the vehicle stationary when applied.
    It would depend if it is the brake shoes, cables and or discs that the shoes engage with that need to be replaced to get the parking brake system to work again.
