cooling fan on 2004 Chevrolet Impala

The cooling fan does not turn on when the engine gets hot. What turns the fan on when the engine is hot?

Coolant tempeture sensor located next to were your top radiator hose connects to the engine. If you have a/c turn it on and see if fans come on. If fans come on that means fan motor is o.k.
