Question: Coolant level is fine but temp gauge runs to hot, also white smoke from exhaust

white smoke from exhause about 5 min when first start truck now temp gauge running to hot when coolant level is fine. Just purchased truck 2 days ago, think I brought a lemon.

    Would check to see if the head gasket is blown

    Thank You, only means of transportation, is truck still driveable for 2 weeks until can be fixed. How must done a head gasket repair cost?

    DO NOT DRIVE THIS VEHICLE ANYMORE! You need to have it checked for a blown head gasket or cracked head. If you continue to drive it you will be putting an engine in it.
