When the top is up on my 2004 325ci, the convertible top cover shock (maybe it's a strut, not sure) is pressing down into the soft plastic on the package tray (convertible compartment lid) and leaving an indentation. Any ideas on how to fix this? The shock is also leaking fluid.

Right now, I'm just putting a sponge in that spot when I put the top up. That is keeping the indention from getting worse and it is soaking up the leaking fluid but this is only a temporary fix.

You need to have your top repaired by a good convertible top person. If the shock is leaking that could lead to further troubles. Get your top scanned, there is actually a CPU just for your top with sensors and motors.
