Question: Control arm replacement

Question

What is the cost of having a control arm replaced? I had it replaced about a year ago but it started knowcking again after a couple months. Don't know how much it cost because my father had taken it to my uncle's shop. I believe a used one was put on then. Am looking to have a new one put on to avoid having to replace it again. Thank you.

I come up with 2.3 hrs for one and 4.4 hrs for both, and it looks like about $345 each. With labor at about $100/hr (in my area) it's about $575 plus tax on parts for one and about $1130 plus tax for both. Good thing you only need one by the sound of it. Make SURE that the noise is in the control arm, of course, at that price. One more thing, this does not include alignment which you can find out locally by calling an alignment shop in your area or the people who replace it may be able to tell you.

You are absolutely wrong. I just bought control arms for 80 bucks (certified parts) with 3 hrs labor for both. Total price 300 for both sides.
