1995 Buick LeSabre

Question: Constant dead battery

My mother's 1995 Buick LeSabre's battery dies when the car is not used for a number of days. The battery has been replaced and her mechanic thinks it's feeding off something. The car has 60,000 miles and only used locally. My mother has been the only owner. Does anyone have any ideas what could be killing the battery.
Thanks, Joanne

Sounds like some sort of parasitic draw from a component that is not "sleeping" when it should be. Or, you could have a light staying on that you don't see - such as in the glove box or trunk.

To check, one would want to check and monitor a draw with a voltmeter and start pulling fuses and relays to see when the draw goes away. Then, you at least know what system to start looking in. A good technician can do this check. Good luck!

Same problem here and we had three new batteries. Turns out there was a parasitic draw from some trunk safety deal. Wires had been bumped in the trunk. The dealership disabled the feature and all is well finally. Good luck
