Cold start problems on 2002 Volvo S40

After sitting all night my S40 is hard to start in the morninings, After about five attempts it will run and you have to feather the fuel pedal, But once warmed up is fine and for the rest of the day, even after sitting at the office for 8 or 9 hours, It will start and run just fine until the next morning.

Get the car checked for diagnostic codes and have them resolved if present. Have a shop check the idle valve, I have seen them stick and cause hard starting. I suggest only a Volvo shop, they will know what commonly fails on these and should be able to address this for you. Here are some near you: http://repairpal.com/directory?address=37716&car_brand_names=Volvo
