2005 Mazda Mazda3 Question: coil over suspension kit?

, Washington, DC, March 12, 2009, 15:24

Does anyone out there have some hands-on experience with the MazdaSpeed Coil Over Suspension Kit, specifically for a Mazda3 (5-door)? I've got a 2005 Mazda3 5-door, fairly well maintained, with about 43K mileage. The MazdaSpeed kit costs about $1.6K, before labor --not chump change. Is it worth it? Does handling really improve significantly? The stock Mazda already has a rather firm ride, so I wouldn't want to make it dramatically stiffer (a little would be OK). Is tire wear significantly affected? (Of course I would be installing higher performance tires.)
I'd appreciate input from anyone out there with first hand knowledge of this modification.

I don't have first hand knowledge of the Mazda Speed Coil over suspension kits but I would look at the Mazda on line forums. There are some general Mazda sites with great information and some forums just dedicated to Mazda 3
if you type in Mazda 3 forum in Google there are loads of free forums with loads of opinions on whats best.
