Where is the location of the plug for the code scanner? Where is the crankshaft sensor located?

    your car is not obd2 and uses black and white 2 pin connectors located in the e-box under the hood by the wipers. if you have an obd2 tester you will need an adapter like the one from www.ross-tech.com who make great vw/audi stuff. the crankshaft has 2 sensors (speed and position). the speed sensor is located in the eng to trans area on the drivers side in a bracket. bracket alignment is important! the position sensor is bolted to the drivers side of the lower engine block. the sensors use 1 gray (speed) and 1 black (position) connector.

    Check out this website for a good walkthrough for reading codes on the C4 platform 100's: http://12v.org/maintenance/dtc.php

    You do not need a scanner, just a wire to connect the pins and a notepad to write down the codes as they display via the check engine light.
