code PO405 EGR flow sensor A circuit low on 2005 Chevrolet Equinox

the check engine light came on in my 05 chevy equinox, the code read PO405 EGR sensor A circuit low,the EGR valve was removed-cleaned & re-installed.A few days later the check engine light came back on with the same code as before, the EGR valve was checked & found to be clean...any idea what the problem(s) are???

as it turned out-the problem was in the wiring harness that connected to the EGR valve,I brought a new EGR valve that came with a new wiring harness and instructions saying to check the wiring harness with the EGR valve of which I ignored just replacing the EGR valve instead, sure that it would solve the problem-it didn't-same check engine light & code.I then swapped out the wiring harness,re-installed the old EGR light no code, problem solved.A note of caution the wires in the harness are not color coded and should be spliced one at a time to avoid a mix up....Hope this helps Good Luck........CC.Small in St. Louis
