clutch replacement on 2003 BMW 325xi

As long as you are sure that ALL of the bell housing bolts are out and the starter is completely out, and the clutch hydraulics are completely off, then I generally use a spreader tool to GENTLY spread the bell housing. Is the engine low enough so that it is not hitting anything in the 'tunnel' and is the shift linkage, shift lever completely out?
