2002 Subaru Impreza WRX Question: clutch does not engage?

You maybe correct that the clutch has failed in your 2002 Subaru Impreza. Replacing the clutch can be a bit complicated. The transmission must be removed, the old clutch parts taken out, the new clutch parts CORRECTLY installed, and the transmission reinstalled. Before beginning this project I would suggest you pick up a repair manual for you Impreza so that you can look over the repair procedure and see what you are up against.

Also if you havent already done this, check your Master and Slave cylinders for leaks. I've had this same problem before and thought the same thing but it only be a slave or master cylinder. Best way to check is have someone pump you clutch pedal why you look down at these two. if so, then DO NOT tear apart your car. I've done many a clutch job, and trust me, Subarus have some of the hardest clutch and flywheel jobs.
