clutch on 1992 GMC Sonoma

two mechanics quoted me 500 dollars on the head for clutch replacement. from your estimation, it is between 350 and 150 over the estimated cost for repair, why? further, is it possible to get an adjustment on a clutch in this vehicle? I assume it is much less costly if possible.

I do not see an estimate in the RepairPal estimator for clutch replacement on a 1992 GMC Sonoma. While I cannot provide and estimate for clutch replacement I can tell you that in almost all cases hydraulic clutches are self adjusting. If the master and slave cylinders are working correctly along with the linkage inside the bell housing then chances are you do indeed need a clutch replacement.
