Recently, the fan stopped working on my 2001 Volvo S40. I troubleshot the fan and it is ok. The A/C compressor is also working when I turn it on. I have narrowed it down to what I believe is the climate control unit. I have removed the entire module that the Climate Control knobs are attached to. Is this the entire CCU or is there another module that I need to tackle?

That is the module that control most the system, however there is a blower resistor module that you will want to check. It's near the blower motor, behind the glove box. However, there is a recall for the climate control system, it involves adding a diode for the blower motor fan. There's a possibility that this is related. The recall is #106, check with your Volvo dealer to see if it's been done.
