The settings 1-3 do not work when the blower is turned on to defrost or defog the windshield. Only the high setting of 4 is working properly. What could be the problem?

MasterSounds like the blower motor resistor has failed http://partimages.genpt.com/largeimages/646921.jpg about $15 to $20 at the parts store
