1999 Honda Civic Question: CLANGING NOISE WHEN APPLYING LIGHT PRESSURE TO THE BRAKES
Answer #1patrick mannion from Greg Solow's Engine Room, November 05, 2009, 13:32Master
Definitely have the brakes checked as it may be a safety issue. What you may be hearing is the brake pads shifting in the brake caliper especially if the small metal shims that locate the brake pads in the caliper have failed. It could be something more serious like one of the two caliper slide bolts, or caliper mount bolts have fallen out for some reason.
