I was having rough idling and stalling issues for my 1999 Isuzu Trooper with "Check Engine" light turning on depending on the fuel gauge level.
Auto store said this was a P401 "EGR valve air flow" error code.
I took the vehicle to City Garage. The diagnostics gave the same error code and City Garage recommended to replace the EGR valve, MAP sensor , intake cleaning service. they reset the computer.
I drove for 30-40 miles and the Check Engine light came back on.
Based on other customer experiences they have recommended to clean the connectors, ports and tubes that connect to the EGR valve to restore the air flow.
I will re-schedule an appt with City Garage so they can do a proper diagnosis.
It started when my car ran out of gas and I had it towed to City Garage. I was charged a $100 diagnostic fee and I was told my spark plugs where bad. The next day my car died and I had it towed back. I was charged a second diagnostic fee and told my coil was now bad. They insisted it was unrelated to the first problem. Not only did they mis-diagnose my car they charged me double what the dealer charged for the part.
