I took my older Nissan 240SX to Chuck Mercier's 76 based on reviews and really regret it! It had been slow-leaking power steering fluid for months. They had the car 6 days (!) , charged me $966. ($445 for that problem and $150 for steam cleaning engine, etc.) and within 10 days of getting the car back the car is leaking the exact same amount of fluid on a constant slow basis!! They fixed nothing and it cost almost $1000 and several Lyft ride charges, going back and forth! Horrible service, don't seem to know what they are doing, large charges, do not go there!
The day after I got the Nissan back (I thought it had been repaired correctly-it took 10 days for me to realize otherwise) I also took my Porsche Boxter there for a routine smog certification only-it had passed with flying colors every year. The check engine light came on during the test. (It has been coming on and off sporadically for 10 years and the Porsche dealership said it was a short and very common. I told the mechanic this. He said they were wrong. Chuck Mercier charged $60 for smog inspection, then another $100 to run base line test (?), replaced all oxygen sensors and cleaned massairflow sensor for $1,200!!, ran another "Run monitors" test for another $110. I paid them $1,529 and the light came back on on the way home- soI returned to the shop, they kept it overnight, the check engine light came back on 3 weeks later and has been on ever since! They are horrible and dishonest, as far as I can tell.
