Body, Interior & Misc., April 3, 2013

RepairPal Expert Overview:

The supplemental restraint system, commonly called the "airbag", consists of several "bags" that are very quickly inflated to help protect the vehicle occupants in the event of a crash. An on board computer uses information from various sensors to determine if and when the airbags should deploy. The affected vehicles may have a poor electrical connection in the front seat which could affect deployment of the side airbags and/or cause the airbag warning light to illuminate. Dealers will replace the airbag withing harness in both the driver and passenger front seats to correct this concern.

For Models: Chrysler 300, Dodge Charger

Brakes, May 1, 2012

RepairPal Expert Overview:

These vehicles may lose anti-lock brake and electronic stability control system function due to an overheated power distribution center. This could lead to loss of vehicle control, increasing the risk of a crash. Dealers will relocate the ABE/ESC system fuse to correct this concern. The Chrysler recall number is M10.

For Models: Chrysler 300, Dodge Charger

Suspension & Steering, January 4, 2012

RepairPal Expert Overview:

The Tire Pressure Monitor System (TPMS) does not warn the driver when a tire is 25% below the recommend pressure. The recalled vehicles notify the customers when the tire pressure reaches 22psi rather than the required 24psi. Underinflated tires can result in overheating of the tire, which could lead to a blowout and possible crash. Dealers will reprogram the TPMS to correct this concern. The Chrysler recall number is L43.

For Models: Chrysler 300, Dodge Challenger R/T, Dodge Challenger SE, Dodge Challenger SRT8, Dodge Charger, Dodge Ram 1500, Dodge Ram 2500, Dodge Ram 3500, Jeep Commander, Jeep Grand Cherokee

Electrical & Lights, August 23, 2010

RepairPal Expert Overview:

Chrysler is recalling 2010 Chrysler 300, Dodge Challenger, Charger, Jeep Commander, Grand Cherokee, and Dodge Ram vehicles due to a problem with the wireless ignition node (Win) module, which can exhibit a binding condition of the solenoid latch. It's possible that the key can be removed from the ignition switch prior to placing the shifter in "Park," which can cause unintended vehicle movement. Dealers will inspect and replace the Win module free of charge.

For Models: Chrysler 300, Dodge Challenger R/T, Dodge Challenger SE, Dodge Challenger SRT8, Dodge Charger

Electrical & Lights, February 9, 2009

RepairPal Expert Overview:

The tire pressure monitor (TPM) sensors may not transmit the actual tire pressure. The driver may be unaware of low tire pressures. Low tire pressure could result in tire damage and cause a crash without warning. Dealers will replace the TPM sensors. The recall began February 9, 2009. The recall number is H41.

For Models: Chrysler 300, Dodge Charger, Dodge Magnum

Drive Train, July 1, 2008

The axle hub nuts on the rear wheels may not be crimped properly, which will allow the nuts to loosen and possibly allow the rear axles to separate from the hubs. For Models: Chrysler 300, Dodge Charger, Dodge Dakota, Dodge Durango, Dodge Magnum, Dodge Ram 3500

Drive Train, October 2, 2006

RepairPal Expert Overview:

On vehicles with an automatic transmission, software in the powertrain control module (PCM) can cause the drive wheels to lock briefly when the transmission is shifted to neutral and back to drive at speeds over 40 MPH. If the drive wheels lock, loss of vehicle control could occur, increasing the risk of a crash. Dealers will reprogram the PCM free of charge. The recall began October 2, 2006. The Chrysler recall number if F43.

For Models: Chrysler 300, Dodge Charger, Dodge Magnum

Brakes, June 26, 2006

RepairPal Expert Overview:

There may be inadequate clearance between the rear brake lines and the exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) tube. Over time, contact between the brake lines and EGR tube can wear the brake lines and cause a leak. If the brake lines leak, stopping distance can increase, and there is potential for an engine compartment fire. Dealers will inspect the rear brake tubes for damage and replace them. A clip will be installed to secure the brake tubes to the strut tower and maintain proper clearance to the EGR tube. The recall began June 26, 2006. The Chrysler recall number is F18.
