Engine May Stall Under Certain Conditions
A problem with the engine computer software may cause the engine to stall. This could cause a crash without warning.
This should be considered a high priority recall. The engine may stall without warning. Please contact your Chrysler dealer. They will check to see if your specific vehicle is affected and advise you on what to do next. Always have your vehicle identification number (VIN) handy when you call.
Certain vehicles equipped with the NGC-1 Powertrain Control Module may cause the engine to stall when a test of the Exhaust Gas Circulation (EGR) system is performed. This could cause a crash without warning. Dealers will reprogram the Powertrain Control Module software. The recall began March 15, 2004. The Chrysler recall number is D15.

POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION:CONTROL MODULE (TCM, PCM)
ON CERTAIN SPORT UTILITY VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH A NGC-1 POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE, THE SOFTWARE PROTOCOL USED TO TEST THE VEHICLE EXHAUST GAS RECIRCULATION (EGR) SYSTEM MAY LEAD TO ENGINE STALLING UNDER CERTAIN OPERATING CONDITIONS.
THIS COULD CAUSE A CRASH WITHOUT WARNING.
DEALERS WILL REPROGRAM THE POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE SOFTWARE. OWNER NOTIFICATION BEGAN ON MARCH 15, 2004. OWNERS SHOULD CONTACT DAIMLERCHRYSLER AT 1-800-853-1403.
