They said the top mounts are bad & they cant find the kit for assembling the strut. I was told the complete assembly has to be bought at a price of $600 each plus labor. Does that sound reasonable?

MasterI just checked on www.parts.com which are OEM dealer parts and I found all the parts http://www.parts.com/parts/2002/CHRYSLER/300M/SPECIAL/?si... Maybe you need another opinion from a independent shop or even a Napa Autocare center you can locate one near you here www.napaonline.com
