2005 Toyota 4Runner Question: CHK ENG. LIGHT&VSC TRAC LIGHT ON

THANKS TO FERNANDO FOR PREVIOUS ANSWER.MY PROBLEM STARTED AFTER PARKING ON A STEEP INCLINE WITH LESS THAN 1/8 TANK OF GAS.VEHICLE RUNS GREAT.I'VE CHECKED VACUUM HOSES,GAS CAP,OIL CHANGE,NEW AIR FILTER,RESET COMPUTER &LIGHTS COME BACK ON AFTER SHORT DRIVE.ANY SUGGESTIONS?

    CODE SHOWED CRANKSHAFT POSITION SENSOR.TOYOTA SAYS IF IT IS BAD,VEHICLE WILL RUN ROUGH IF IT EVEN STARTS.SUV RUNS BETTER THAN IT HAS IN MONTHS(WITH LITES ON).IT IS SELDOM DRIVEN OVER 60MPH(30-60MI.DAILY COMMUTE ON 45-55MPH ROADS.2 TECHS. HAVE TOLD ME "CPS" RARELY FAILS.SUV HAS 60000MI

    My 04 4Runner was doing the same thing. My mechanic (not Toyota) advised me that the VSC/Trac system rarely would go bad. He suggested checking the battery and discovered that it was "giving out" slowly (I had never replaced the battery). Put a new battery in and that was that! All the trouble lights went off after that. No problems, since.
