RepairPal Expert Overview:

The second stage of the dual-stage passenger airbag will not inflate in a severe frontal impact. Accordingly, the airbags do not meet the federal safety standards. In the event of a crash, an improperly deployed airbag will increase the risk of injury to the seat occupant. Dealers will replace the front passenger airbag to correct this concern. The General Motors recall number is 11302.

For Models: Chevrolet Equinox, GMC Terrain

Suspension & Steering, October 18, 2011

RepairPal Expert Overview:

The tire pressure monitoring system is designed to illuminate the tire pressure warning light when the tire pressure in any one tire is 25% below the recommended cold tire pressure. On these vehicles, the light will not illuminate until the tire pressure is more than 25% below the recommend cold tire pressure. Underinflated tires can result in the tire overheating, which could lead to a blowout and a possible crash. Underinflated tires also affect tire wear, vehicle handling, and fuel economy. Dealers will update the Body Control Module software to correct this concern. The General Motors recall number is 11261.

For Models: Chevrolet Corvette

Body, Interior & Misc., October 3, 2011

RepairPal Expert Overview:

The rear hatch hinges may not meet the load requirement as specified in the federal safety standards. In the event of a crash, the rear hatch could separate from the vehicle, increasing the risk of injury. Dealers will replace both rear hatch hinges to correct this concern. The General Motors recall number is 11258

For Models: Chevrolet Impala

Suspension & Steering, August 5, 2011

RepairPal Expert Overview:

The upper power steering hose may be misrouted, causing it to be damaged from the heat of the catalytic converter. Power steering fluid may leak onto the catalytic converter, resulting in an engine compartment fire. Dealers will inspect the upper power steering hose routing and make the necessary repairs to correct this concern. The General Motors recall number is 11224.

For Models: Cadillac Escalade, Cadillac Escalade ESV, Chevrolet Silverado 1500, Chevrolet Suburban 1500, Chevrolet Tahoe, GMC Sierra 1500, GMC Yukon, GMC Yukon XL 1500

Suspension & Steering, June 28, 2011

RepairPal Expert Overview:

The intermediate steering shaft attaching bolts may not have been tightened to the proper specification. This could allow the steering shaft to separate. The driver could experience a loss of steering ability, increasing the risk of a crash. Dealers will inspect and ensure the intermediate steering shaft bolts are tightened to the proper specification. This recall is expected to begin on July 13, 2011. The General Motors recall number is 11191.

For Models: Chevrolet Colorado, GMC Canyon

Drive Train, June 28, 2011

RepairPal Expert Overview:

Certain vehicles may have been assembled with an automatic transmission shift cable adjustment clip that may not retain the cable in the correct position. If the cable is not properly retained, the shift indicator may not show the correct transmission gear. The driver could move the shifter to "Park" and remove the ignition key, but the transmission gear may not be in "Park." The driver may not be able to restart the vehicle and the vehicle could roll unexpectedly, increasing the risk of a crash or personal injury. Dealers will install a new automatic transmission adjustment clip to correct this concern. This recall is expected to begin on July 19, 2011. The General Motors recall number is 11181.

For Models: Chevrolet Express 1500, GMC Savana 1500

Brakes, May 5, 2011

RepairPal Expert Overview:

The right rear brake hose may contact the tire or wheel rim, which can cause a hole to be worn into the brake hose. This may result in fluid loss, which would reduce the effectiveness of the rear brakes and increase the risk of a crash. Dealers will secure the right rear brake hose to ensure sufficient clearance. This recall is expected to begin by May 13, 2011. The General Motors recall number is 11126.

For Models: Chevrolet Cruze

Drive Train, May 5, 2011

RepairPal Expert Overview:

The shift linkage may not be properly installed. As a result, the shift indicator may not correctly reflect the position of the transmission gear. This could allow the driver to remove the ignition key when the transmission is not in "Park." The vehicle may not start and/or could roll away after the driver has exited the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash. Dealers will inspect the transmission shift linkage for correct installation and adjust it as necessary. No schedule for owner notification is available at this time. The General Motors recall number is 11142.

For Models: Chevrolet Cruze

Suspension & Steering, May 5, 2011

RepairPal Expert Overview:

The bolt attaching the intermediate steering shaft to the steering gear may not have been properly installed. The steering shaft may separate from the steering gear, which may cause a loss of steering control, increasing the risk of a crash. Dealers will inspect and repair the intermediate shaft/steering gear connection as necessary to assure the shaft is properly assembled. No schedule for owner notification is available at this time. The General Motors recall number is 11149.

For Models: Chevrolet Colorado, GMC Canyon

Body, Interior & Misc., May 5, 2011

RepairPal Expert Overview:

The windshield wiper motor crank arm nut may not be tightened to specification. If the wipers are operated with a buildup of snow or ice, or when the windshield is dry, the crank arm nut could loosen to the point where the wipers become inoperative. This could reduce driver visibility, increasing the risk of a crash. Dealers will secure the crank arm nut to correct this concern. This recall is expected to begin by May 11, 2011. The General Motors recall number is 11095.
