Driveability Problems Due to Internal Distributor Fault
An internal distributor fault could cause the Check Engine Light to illuminate, an engine misfire, or a stalling condition. Replacement of the distributor is commonly recommend to correct this concern.
Intake Manifold Gasket May Leak Coolant or Engine Oil
The intake manifold gasket may develop and external engine oil or coolant leak. In some cases, an internal coolant leak may occur causing coolant to mix with the engine oil. Running the engine with a coolant/oil mix may result in engine damage. Replacing the intake manifold gasket should correct this issue.
Rear of Vehicle May Ride to High or Low
The auto level ride compressor may fail causing the rear of the vehicle to ride to high or too low.
Fluid Leak From Rear of Transmission
The transmission extension housing seal may leak fluid, replacing the worn seal will commonly correct this concern.
Coolant Leak & Engine Overheating
A coolant leak may develop from the water pump. This can result in an engine overheating condition. A leaking water pump will require replacement.
Burning Smell Due to Valve Cover Gasket Leak
A burning smell may develop due to an oil leak form one or both valve cover gaskets. Resealing the valve cover will generally correct this concern. However, the valve covers should be inspected and replaced if damaged.
Idler/Pitman Arm May Wear and Cause Looseness in Steering
The idler arm or pitman arm may wear causing looseness in the steering. When this occurs the front suspension will not be able to be aligned correctly.
