Chevrolet Express 2500 Recall 08V315000
Frame Rail May Be Wider Than Specification, Potentially Causing a Fuel Leak
Engine, July 30, 2008
RepairPal Expert Overview
Our Quick Take:
The frame of the vehicle is made up of rails that are fastened together. These frame rails are manufactured to a certain length, width, and height. On some vehicles, the frame may be too wide, which will cause it to touch the fuel tank. This can cause a fuel leak.
What Should You Do?
We at RepairPal have designated this a medium priority recall. Please contact your General Motors dealer. They will check to see if your specific vehicle is affected and advise you on what to do next. Always have your vehicle identification number (VIN) handy when you call.
The frame rail of the vehicle may be wider than intended. If this is the case, the fuel tank may rub on the frame rail and eventually may leak. Leaking fuel presents a fire hazard. Dealers will inspect the vehicle and modify the frame rail if required. The GM recall number is 080205. This recall began on July 30, 2008.
