Chevrolet Colorado Recall 11V276000
Windshield Wipers May Fail
The windshield wiper crank arm nut may loosen, causing the wipers to become inoperative. Driver visibility could be reduced, increasing the risk of a crash.
This should be considered a high priority recall. The windshield wipers could fail without warning. Please contact your General Motors dealer. They will check to see if your specific vehicle is affected and advise you on what to do next. Always have your vehicle identification number (VIN) handy when you call.
The windshield wiper motor crank arm nut may not be tightened to specification. If the wipers are operated with a buildup of snow or ice, or when the windshield is dry, the crank arm nut could loosen to the point where the wipers become inoperative. This could reduce driver visibility, increasing the risk of a crash. Dealers will secure the crank arm nut to correct this concern. This recall is expected to begin by May 11, 2011. The General Motors recall number is 11095.
