2004 Nissan Altima 122,000 mi,
This problem has occured on 3 or 4 occasions. When idling at a stop sign or red light, there was complete loss of power and subsequently service engine light soon came on. Regained control after turning off the engine, but the scary part is it behaves as if all controls are frozen and the car rolls down on a slope without any control.
driving at approx. 45 miles per hour engine shut down at once engine light came on. had trouble starting it again and drove slow home didn't have any power when pushing gas pedal.
2007 Nissan Altima 70,000 mi,
Light came on. I figured it may go off, like it was a gas cap issue. Took it to the nissan dealer paid $121.00 and they said they couldnt find anything wrong. But the code was coming up P2101 throttle body actuator. They reset the computer and cut the light off. Told me if it comes on again i would have to have the throttle body replaced. $1042 was the out the door quote. Havent gotten it fixed as of yet. Waitting to scrape up the $1000.

2003 Nissan Altima 90,000 mi,
right after getting gas, throttle went bad. actually at the pump!
2012 Nissan Altima 81,000 mi,
at first I had trouble with the push to start. I would push the button and the dash light lit up the engine clicked and nothing. I Called the dealer he said to change the batteries on the keyless entry which I did. The engine fired up after a few tries but not without a noticeable "lag" to get started. The lag continues 3 days later and the check engine light comes on. I get the code P2101 Failure of throttle body (etc) actuator. I bought the car in 2013 and have had no issues it ran great and 80% of the mileage is highway.
2003 Nissan Altima 180,000 mi,

2002 Nissan Altima 120,000 mi,
throttle body unit went out while driving. Car would only drive at idle speed.
Throttle body intermittently failed near new. During highway driving, engine would remain running, but at idle. Throttle had no effect. Was replaced under warranty, no furhter issue.
I have not have diagnosis yet, but this too sound like the same problem I am experience. I will be getting a diagnosis to prevent this from happening again.
2011 Nissan Altima 85,000 mi,
Check engine light came on I took it to Nissan and they said the had to re set the software for MAF sensor ($130.00 for diagnosis). Light stayed off for about 4 months.service engine light came back on so I took it back and they replaced the MAF sensor and the light stayed off for 3 days. Took it back and is currently still there and they just called and said the throttle body needs to be replaced $1500.00. I told him I'm not paying that because its still under warranty and we purchased the wrap package as well. Waiting for a call back. At least they gave me a rental car at no charge while they figure it out.
