The electronic throttle actuator (throttle body) can fail causing a loss of power and illumination of the Check Engine Light.

  • Throttle body intermittently failed near new. During highway driving, engine would remain running, but at idle. Throttle had no effect. Was replaced under warranty, no furhter issue.

Check Engine light came on. Three days later the car would not excellerate but stayed at idle. Re-started engine and was able to dive it to the dealership. Was told it needed a new thrttle body according the Nissan. I never had such an issue with any other other cars.

This problem has occured on 3 or 4 occasions. When idling at a stop sign or red light, there was complete loss of power and subsequently service engine light soon came on. Regained control after turning off the engine, but the scary part is it behaves as if all controls are frozen and the car rolls down on a slope without any control.

Light came on. I figured it may go off, like it was a gas cap issue. Took it to the nissan dealer paid $121.00 and they said they couldnt find anything wrong. But the code was coming up P2101 throttle body actuator. They reset the computer and cut the light off. Told me if it comes on again i would have to have the throttle body replaced. $1042 was the out the door quote. Havent gotten it fixed as of yet. Waitting to scrape up the $1000.
