  Elena,
  The check engine light comes on to let you know that there is a problem with your vehicle that is causing it to potentially emit excessive emissions. You will need to take this to a repair shop where they can connect a computer to your vehicle and read the diagnostic information and perform the appropriate repairs.   my check engine is on have no ideas of what it means,gas cap is good. if the gas has water in it would it help to put to put water treatment in the gas
