Question: check engine light is on how to turn it off

we want the check engine light turned off where can we take it in our area to have that done

    turning it off does not fix anything and the shop needs the freeze frame data to help in there diag. leave the light on and take it to the shop.if you turn it off, it will return until the repair is completed.
