Check Engine Light and Speedometer/Cruise Control Inop on Dodge Intrepid

A defective vehicle speed sensor can cause problems with the cruise control and speedometer operation, as well as erratic shifting. The connectors on the sensors are also susceptible to corrosion, which will create similar symptoms. Any of these problems can cause Check Engine Light illumination.

If I turn on the cruise control then hit the break while driving to shut it off check engine light pops on then I have to pull over to turn off my car then when I turn It back on the engine light is off now while driving It is on and wont turn off. Just put oil in it and had a tune up. It runs fine just the check engine light wont shut off... sometimes the car wont start or turn over takes 2-3 times to start the car starter was just replaced.
