I have a check engine code that comes on and then goes off after so many miles and then comes back on again. The code is P0776. Can you tell me what this most likely is and how much to fix. The Car runs smooth with no abnorming shifting that I can feel.

Transmission codes most of the time lead to internal problems. Is the fluid full and clean? (A transmission service will NOT help if fluid is very dirty)
After that we would need to hook up a scan tool and evaluate pids.
Worst case would be a complete transmission. $3000?

My question since a scan tool was hooked up and a code provided if someone could tell me if this sounds like a physical problem with the transmission or a computer problem i.e. a circuit sensor that needs replacing and based on the code what is the part that is most likely needed and how much . The transmission fluid is full not sure how dirty the fluid is as I did have my fluids checked a jiffy lube during my last oil change.
