Question: check engine light came on then car died

while driving, the check engine light came on, went off then the car died while in motion and will not start. It has a new alternator and belt. It also had power to close the windows. ANy suggestions?

    If it cranks i would check, the fuel pump, crankshaft, camshaft sensors, fuel pump relay, also the spark plugs, cables, rotor the whole ignition system including the module.

    yes, you need to get the codes that set the check engine light. this will help you figure out what the problem is.

    Ok so I had it towed to the station and they said I need a timing belt and should have the water pump changed at the same time. He is estimating $800-$900 am I getting ripped off
