One or more fuel injectors may become stuck closed causing an engine misfire and the Check Engine Light to illuminate. Our technicians tell us that this problem can be caused by some fuel additives. There are special procedures which may be able to restore the affected injector. If this fails the affected injector must be replaced.

This truck came with the "poppet style" injectors. When I experienced that "miss", I bought a new injector unit only to discover that the poppet style hade already been replaced before I bought the vehicle at 171000 miles. The "new" injectors were perhaps just dirty and did not respond to any cleaning efforts. Once replaced, it ran WAY better, had more power and got a little better fuel economy. It was an AC Delco unit but shorted out an injector so I replaced that with a Delphi unit.
It stalls like it ran out of gas, has more than half a tank. CHECK GAGES light doesnt come on anymore for low fuel. Again, fuel filter & pump have been replaced, STILL shutting of randomly.
Illumination of the Check Engine Light can be caused by a loose or worn gas cap.
