1997 Acura CL Question: Check Engine Light

Question

Sonjie, 3.0L V6, Pittsburgh, PA, September 08, 2010, 05:53
 Rookie

Initially, sporadic jerking. Month or so later, check engine light came on, then went away. Next time this warning came on, it was flashing, and the gears began to slip. The car drives but it cannot go up hills. I was told that I need a new transmission.

When the Check Engine Light blinks indicates that there is a serious failure, you should not drive the vehicle and retrieve the trouble codes from the computer to diagnose the problem. For more information visit this article; http://repairpal.com/check-engine-light
